Unrivalled high scores for Bazyliszek (Basilisk) interactive dark ride with FIVE industry awards at EAS

We are pleased to announce no less than five awards have been received for the Basilisk interactive dark ride. The popular family ride, created by Alterface, Jora Vision and ETF Ride Systems, opened last Spring at the Legendia regional theme park in Poland.

Prior to EAS, Basilisk received already two Parkscout Awards, one for Europe’s and Germany’s Best New Rides 2018.

The evening before EAS, Gemi Verlag organized its annual European Star Awards ceremony at the rooftop of Heineken Experience World in Amsterdam. Basilisk was awarded Best New Ride for 2018. An extensive professional jury has been selecting and judging the many projects submitted.

During the first European Park World Excellence Awards at the prestigious W Hotel in Amsterdam centre, Basilisk was nominated in four categories. The Alterface/ETF/Jora Vision dreamteam left almost nothing to competition and proudly accepted two awards: the first prize in the category Family Ride of the Year and Best Use of Technology for the trackless vehicles by ETF Ride Systems.

“The awards are the ultimate proof that a family ride within an affordable budget range can deliver unbeatable quality and fun. Yet the biggest reward for us are the happy customers and visitors!” comments Benoit Cornet, CEO and Founder of Alterface.

“It’s a great honor for us and our team to receive such tributes for the Basilisk ride. We had full confidence it would be a successful ride and have seen a tremendous interest from visitors over summertime. The awards are a great recognition and we’d like to thank all awards jury members for their support.” states Pawel Cebula, CEO of Legendia, Poland.

Robin van der Want, Project Development Director of Jora Vision: With the Basilisk we have proven that you can create a very impressive, highly themed, dark ride experience with limited budgets, as long as you invest in a clever design, smart building method, good integration of lighting and media, and carefully crafted props and decoration. We are very proud of the result and congratulate our partners in this project.

Benoit Cornet, CEO & Founder of Alterface, concludes: “It has taken a while for the market to recognize the importance of a family ride that offers more than a short thrill and whereby all family members can participate, sharing the fun and experience. The awards for Basilisk clearly demonstrate the firm belief in interactive mixed-media attractions, offering a highly immersive experience. We are very proud of the Basilisk ride, developed in close cooperation with our customer and partners, ensuring all ride elements are perfectly synchronized into a dynamic and compelling game.”
